Hi, I’m Taylor Abatiell!

I make joyful, diverse books for young folks. I'm an associate art director at Penguin Workshop, where I oversee RISE, our imprint for babies and toddlers, along with Mad Libs and Penguin Readers.

I live on a marsh with my wife and our baby daughter, in a multigenerational, multiracial, gloriously queer household. It's the kind of home I want every kid to find on a bookshelf, and it shapes how I look at every book I work on. Together we tend to a small flock of chickens and a long list of projects. When I'm not making books, I'm building a greenhouse, binding my own sketchbooks, or thrifting baby clothes.
